Info point#6

Italiano

In 1267 Raniero Fasani, nicknamed Bevignate, was appointed “dominus” of the castle.

Two “hospitalis” were built, to welcome pilgrims heading to the Holy Land. The Templars’ mission was to protect them on their way to the port of Ancona.

The Templars’ presence lasted till 1307 when the Order was suppressed, but several Templar symbols remained in Casacastalda.
