From the records of Guerriero de’ Campioni from Gubbio, a notary and judge, we learn that in the year 1469 the pope Pius II (Enea Silvio Piccolomini) departed from Rome on the 14 th of June headed to ancona and on the 5th of July he stopped to rest in Casa Castalda.
